Spring, are you there?

Good afternoon!

Boy have I been productive! I was so scared of not having anything to do when my maternity leave started, that I'd planned mucho stuff! At least I feel productive instead of feeling like a lazy person doing nothing while waiting for the baby... Ok don't get me wrong, there have been many lazy moments in the past two weeks.... and for that I blame Drop Dead Diva and Real Housewives ... but mostly, I've been doing productive things! I've been cleaning like crazy in this house. It has never been cleaner... yay! My laundry is up-to-date, on a daily basis, which never happens when I work! I usually keep all the laundry for the weekend and then I'm stuck doing it all day long. But not anymore! :) I've also been baking some muffins and banana bread. Yum! I've written my thank you notes for my baby shower... which I still need to post btw! I've also organized our paper situation. Which was about time thank you very much! We used to keep all of our important papers in a big ugly box in the closet and had to go through all of them everytime we needed a specific paper. It was terrible! And so ugly! So I've neatly placed all of our papers in seperate folders and identified them all. Ok I still need to buy a new box... but at least now it's organized and less ugly.... I'll be on the lookout for a cute folder container! And of course, I've created some TPT stuff. Woohoo!

First, here are my Math Spring Centers!

This is my first math product and I'm really excited about it! Could also be due to the adorable graphics... :) Thank you Krista!

And for those of you interested, we have finally decided on the spelling of Baby S's name! We are going to go with SoPHia :) Love it! Let's not forget this is the way Sophia Loren and Sophia Bush spell it :) I just think it looks cuter and more sophisticated. I'm really happy we finally made a decision! Yay!

OK well I'm off to eat a bit... or a lot! We'll see!

Classroom Organization and 2 Giveaways (including a flash one so hurry up! :)

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I know for some of you, summer (or at least summer vacation) is already over! So happy back to school!! :)

I'm very excited to announce that I recently learned that..... TARGET is coming to Canada!!!! Oh my gosh!!!! Joy!!! No Target is no fun :( Not only can I never participate in any Target gift card giveaways but I can never actually shop there! I hear about all the great deals and fun teacher stuff and there's nothing I can do about it! But these days are soon over! Yay!! Hopefully I have a few Canadian readers so we can be happy together!!! :)

Back to school is coming our way pretty soon! I'm going back end of August but I haven't done much to prepare yet... As you know, I'm keeping my owl theme (love!). I've decided to create some labels to organize my classroom. I want everything to be labeled and in their own specific place. I'm pretty much organized (but I do need to buy a few cute bins or boxes) but having my supplies labeled will be easier.... and let's face it... SO much prettier!!! Here the labels I came up with (141 of them!):

and I also made word wall letters to match:

Both products are available in my TPT Store. But! I'm feeling generous today (I mean, come on, I did learn so great news recently ;) so I will be giving away both products to one lucky reader!!! All you have to do is leave a comment telling me if you have a theme for your classroom and if so, what it is! I'd love to have an idea of what your classroom looks like! :) I will use random number generator to choose a winner tonight!
The winner is Emily! Congrats! Look for an email from me :)

If you do purchase the labels and feel there are some labels that are missing, please let me know and I will gladly add them!

Also, my bloggy buddy Sara over at Miss V's Busy Bees is having an amazing 200 follower giveaway!

You have a chance to win my Rockin' Back to School Pack!!

So head on over to enter!! Good Luck!

Finally, I have a little question for you. Does anyone know how to add the reply to comments button on my blog? Not the one to reply by email but the one where you can actually reply directly on the blog.I know a few blogs have it but I can't seem to figure out where I have to go to add it! So if anyone can help, thanks a bunch!

Until next time,

Award and New Product!

Hello everyone!

I am very excited about my new AWARD! Yay!! Heidi over at My (Not So) Elementary Life has awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award! Thank you so much Heidi!

Here are the seven rules to follow when receiving this award:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
2. Include a link to their blog.
3. Include the award image in your post.
4. Give 7 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award.
6. When nominating, include a link to their blog.
7. Let other bloggers know they've been nominated.

Ok so here are 7 really random facts about me!

1. If I could eat only one thing for the rest of my life, it would be.... CEREALS! I am obsessed with cereals. Seriously! I love them all! From Weetabix to Lucky Charms! My all time favorite kind ? Honey Bunches of Oat! Any chance I get, I eat cereals. As a late-night snack, when my boyfriend is not there for supper and I have to eat alone I always sometimes get lazy and just grab a bowl, for lunch if there's nothing in the fridge and obviously, for breakfast!

2. I went skydiving about 5 years ago... and I loved it! I'm not sure I'd do it again though because I got really scared! Not so much when I was doing the actual skydive but on the ride up, in the plane! I'm extremely claustrophobic and so the 25 minute ride in a tiny airplane was NOT fun! Add to it that I am scared of heights and you get a not so good mixture! But once I was out of the plane, it was amazing! I was so proud of myself for actually doing it! This is one experience I will never forget!

3. I am obsessed with Lauren Conrad :) I love love love everything she wears and everything she does with her hair! I have all of her books and all of The Hills seasons. She is my ultimate style inspiration! And please, she does the beach wave hair thing PERFECTLY!

4. I have baby fever like there is no tomorrow! My bf and I are thinking of starting the trying later this year... but seriously I feel like I cannot wait that much longer! I feel like being a teacher has made me want kids so much more! People must think I am crazy! I talk about babies with my colleagues and friends all the time! And I'm not even pregnant!  My bf and I have already decided on the room decors! Yes, we are that cheesy! If it's a girl: forest animals! (We're talking bunnies, owls, squirrels, deer... cute!) If it's a boy: A nautical theme with boats and navy and red colors!

5. I've recently began baking! Ok, well I've only been baking cupcakes but I'll get to the rest later! I try to find excuses just to bake them! Suppers, birthdays, finding a new recipe! But once they're done I only eat one and then give them away! My bf eats a few but he can't go through 20 cupcakes so I donate to friends and family. Cupcakes are so adorable but SOOO full of calories! So I try not to be fooled by their cuteness and I only eat one. It is also important to mention that I lick the bowl, the spoons, try the frosting a few times.... so it's kind of like eating 2 in the end! I really enjoy baking them. I'm so proud when they are finished! I still need to work on the decoration part but I'm still a newbie so I forgive myself!

6. I love love love my job! Seriously, I am so happy to be teaching! I don't hear many people say they love their job as much as I do! I feel really lucky to have found a career path that keeps me motivated and brings me more joy then I ever could have imagined! I am always trying to find ways to get better and to make the learning experience for my kids fun and challenging. The blogging world has been such a great resource for me! It's made me a more creative teacher. I have created so much this past year and found so many great products that my students have LOVED! I really believe blogging and following other inspiring blogs have made me a better teacher. I am more inspired than ever and I want to spend all summer getting ready for my new kiddos in September.

7. I love traveling! There are many places I wish to visit in the world yet so little time!! My parents have been on so many amazing trips and seeing their pictures and hearing them brag (in a good way!) about great trips has made me want to go to places I didn't even know I was interested in!
I've been to many places down south, in all-inclusives. They are so much fun when you just want to relax and enjoy the sun and beach :) My bf and I are even looking to go in the next few weeks. However, I feel like I now want to step away all little bit from these trips and discover new places and cultures! I really want to go to Greece first! We would probably love to go there on our honeymoon :) And then Italy and Portugal. Those would be first 3 choices :)

There you have it! You now know a little bit more about me :)

And here are the 15 amazing bloggers who I have given the award to! Congrats! Your blogs are great!

The Joys of Power Point, my New Favorite Game and Scaredy Squirrel!

Good afternoon everybody!

I am excited to announce that I have recently fallen in love.... TWICE! Once with Power Point and then a second time with I have who has!!

1- POWER POINT!!! It was about time I realized Power Point is for more than presentations! Up until recently, I was using Word to create all of my documents. And it took forever!!! After seeing a few TPT sellers write that they were using PP I figured I would give it a try. And boy am I happy I did! Creating stuff is so much faster and there are some great features that Word doesn't have. So I'm hooked! :) And if you check out Amy Lemons blog, she has two video tutorials that are really helpful!! Thanks AMY!!

2- I have who has!! As I'd mentionned in an earlier post, I've only recently found out about this game. I've been  playing with my students for the last two weeks and we are all in love with this game!! My students get really excited (in a good way ;) when we play! We try to beat our time everytime (that's a lot of times!;) and when we do, the kids feel so proud! It is so cute! So far, we've played I have who has for time and for contractions.
If you would like a copy of my I have who has for contractions, click here!

Now I would like to introduce you to an other love of mine... just not a new one ;)

SCAREDY SQUIRREL!!!

Scaredy Squirrel is a character created by Canadian author Mélanie Watt. He is the most amazing character ever! The series follow the adventures of little Scaredy, an extremely fearful squirrel. Scaredy is both funny and charming and the books have a sarcastic tone you are sure to love. I simply am obsessed LOVE Scaredy Squirrel and so do my kids! My kids are in grade 6 and they love story time with Scaredy! As you know, my kids are second language learners so these books were not originally made for grade 6 kids (even though they really enjoy it!) so your younger kiddos would probably really like him!

My favorite book is Scaredy Squirrel at Night:

I would love to know if you know Scaredy Squirrel!! And if you don't I highly recommend you grab a copy of one of the books.... and let me know what you think!! :)

Last but not least, I have a word wall question.... Do you guys use word walls in your classroom? If so, do you have word walls for themes or do you work by teaching new words with patterns?
I've always done with patterns... but I was curious! I love the idea of have thematic word walls.... but I also feel like learning words with similar patterns is amazing! Or maybe you have a word wall for the words of the week that they need to study and then a second wall for a theme? I would love your input!!

Until next time,
